FROM CHALLENGE TO RECOVERY: THE DETERMINATION OF FRANCESCO PIZZI AND HIS PERFORMANCE AT MUGELLO. 17 TH PLACE IN THE MUGELLO RACE ON OCTOBER 10 TH.
Tough challenge for the Mugello weekend. Francesco Pizzi conquers the 17th place arriving first in the Van Amersfoort Racing team
The first appointment for the Formula Regional European Championship by Alpine opens with a cloudy sky and good temperatures in an intense weekend that brought exciting competitions and Paul Aron to victory.
A weekend that starts with the first qualifying where Aron already shows incredible times, getting the pole position.
Our Francesco Pizzi is concentrated. Qualifications allow him to gain more confidence and he will show to improve his times during the weekend, until the race on 10th October.
It has not been an easy challenge for the boy from Frascati who in the first qualifying session conquers the 19th place, arriving first in the Van Amersfoort Racing team and gaining the 18th in Race 1.
Loaded and without distractions he continues with the second day that will make him even more competitive. Badly started in 22nd position, Pizzi reaches the 14th position with a great recovery, but the red flag at one lap to the end, changes the ranking and makes him relegated to 17th position.
Francesco had a great tone and great application in the field that allowed him a satisfactory result, but there is still a lot of work to do for everyone.
Golden weekend for Aron who earned with two pole positions and two wins.
Weekend that graduates the Formula Regional European Champioship 2021 Gregoire Saucy, of ART GP.
We look forward to the next appointment, Sunday, October 31 in Monza.
